Of Sea and Song
By: Regina Merullo

In this place that I call home
Forever the seas I will roam.
Sandy ocean and minty foam,
Starfish sprinkled coral comb.
Underneath sun speckled sea
On clam covered rock is me.
Horsefish flit over fingertips;
Bubbles slip from singing lips.
Treasure from your earth glistens
Through the waves that are stirred
Of it's origin I sing, so listen
To what craves to be heard;
Steal again from me, if you think you're brave
And I'll drag you to you're watery grave-
Yet tread unto your sacred land
Is in my world forever banned.
Still my mother has what you need
Too long has gone your unthanked greed
She is what you drinks and feeds what feeds you
The silence is strong but she is too.
She holds the secrets to your health;
A cure to your illness, a key to your wealth.
So general sttalkers,
Theiveing land-walkers,
Turn back now to where you belong
Or your home too will be indefinitely wrong.
you'll poisin your fish, then birds and trees
She'll drench you, dry you until all life from you flees.
Why should harsh conciquence she create?
What you brought unto yourself is your own horrid fate.
I wish we could stop polluting our waters. There is evidence of our past and doors to out future... Paths to each other and weapons free to all who can reach it. Water is so much more precious than we all make it out to be...
